JUNIOR COMMUNITY BASKETBALL
At Maidstone Warriors, we believe in Basketball for All. Our community programme offers opportunities for young players of all abilities to learn, play, and grow in the game. We run age group teams from Under 10s to Under 18s, giving every player the chance to compete, develop skills, and make new friends. Our teams play in the Kent County Junior Basketball League (KCJBL), providing a fun yet competitive environment where teamwork, respect, and sportsmanship are at the heart of everything we do.
Each age group is supported by qualified coaches who bring experience, energy, and a commitment to player development. Alongside them, dedicated team managers work hard behind the scenes to keep everything running smoothly, ensuring our players and parents get the best possible club experience.
UNDER 10s
Our youngest Warriors take their first steps into basketball in a fun, supportive environment. Sessions focus on basic skills, teamwork, and developing a love for the game. This is a mixed-gender group, welcoming all young players.
UNDER 12s
Players continue to develop their fundamental skills while learning more about game play. With friendly competition and plenty of encouragement, this is where confidence and a sense of teamwork really start to grow. The U12s are also a mixed-gender group, making it a great space for everyone to learn together.
UNDER 14s
At this stage, players take their skills into more structured game situations. They learn tactics, develop court awareness, and compete with enthusiasm in the Kent County Junior Basketball League. From U14s onwards, players are in separate boys’ and girls’ teams to suit different competition formats.
UNDER 16s
Our U16s refine their skills, fitness, and understanding of the game in a competitive setting. Players are encouraged to take more responsibility on and off the court, working as a team towards shared goals. Boys and girls train and compete in separate teams.
UNDER 18s
The oldest junior age group focuses on advanced skills, strategic play, and preparing for senior basketball. This is where leadership, discipline, and competitive experience come together to create well-rounded players. Boys and girls compete in separate teams at this level.
